Not sure if I'm too late to get the frame replaced.

When I bought the truck, has perfect body with original paint, and most of the frame, except one stretch of the frame I missed, on the passenger side next to the muffler.

Took it to the dealer, sure it's done. The service writer is a Tacoma guy, tried his best to get it covered but he's told too late, that recall had closed.

I tried to call the Toyota corporate myself, received 2 phone calls telling me the same thing, too late.

Service writer says its too late, corporate says it's too late. I'm going to guess it's too late. Bunch of schmucks on a forum probably won't change their minds. I might be wrong, but I think the extension was out to 12yr from first use.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
Extension on the frame recall ended 12 years from date of first use for that truck. Unfortunately Toyota won’t do anything for it. Previous owner likely knew before selling

That's what I thought. I do think it's salvageable since the majority of the frame sections are sound. The area effected by rust is around the front leaf spring hanger on the passenger side about 16" long.

I was a certified welder/pipe fitter for a decade but changed to an admin job last year. I'm slowly building my shop at work, the equipment I ordered just start to show up, hopefully by late Jan 2023 I'd have my Tig, Mig and plasma cutter delivered.

I may try to replace part of the frame in sections with some 1/8" or 3/16" 308/316 stainless just because. I still have friends at my old shop whom can save some drops for me.

What does it look like inside the boxed sections of the frame up by the cats?

That part is fine. I had a very good look at it because my catalytic converters were stolen this week.
