FWIW, I had mine powder coated metallic bronze.
    20220512_131837_HDR.jpg 20220512_131822_HDR.jpg
    Reasons are as follows:
    • Matched my color scheme with paint/vinyl/wheels
    • Something different than black
    • More durable than rattle can paint
The downside is if/when they get scuffed I will have to touch up with a paint pen or something and after the 100th time it might start to look a little weird or get tiring.

However, my truck, my rules. :D

It's my daily driver and not a dedicated off-road rig, so aesthetics do matter to me. While I realize powder coating is not cheap, it looks great and should hold up decently for years to come.

    KY Joe, those look awesome!
I almost went with powder coat as mine since it is also my daily...looks do matter, but i also work from home and dont drive much except for desert excursions. i figured with the amount of times im going to scrape them, the rattle can would end up best since i can touch them up as needed.

That's the way to do it and those would look great on the army green with some bronze wheels!

How about glow in the dark paint!?

Good thing about paint, you can always paint over it if you don't like it.

I was thinking more like bass boat glitter/flake, but that sounds pretty slick too

Paint 'em black... then Plasti-Dip them red. If you like it, you can leave it or peal the PD and re-paint red. If you don't, then just peal and leave them black. Sub in other colors of PD if you want to try different colors, you can always peal the PD off.

    I say make them pop.

I had been pretty committed to painting mine flat black, but at the last minute decided to flip things up and I'm so happy that I didn't go with black.

Black is always safe with a white truck, my personal preference on my white taco is sunset red by rustolem.
