Cv boot replacement oops

    Hey tw,
    Been a while since I posted but I ran into a problem while trying to yank the front cv axle. I got everything removed but when I was attempting to pull the axle, because my inner boot was torn all the way, the tripod slid all the way out. I hadn't yet made a mark to keep everything in the same orientation. Is this going to screw everything up? Do I need to pull the rest of it out of the diff to finish the repair? Ive tried to search for the answers but no luck. Kind of concerned about it coming out and was hoping one of the many guru's on here could help.

    For your sake. Go ahead and get it out of the the diff. That way you can replace the boots and grease em up. There is no orientation when going back in except the boot needs to mate up with the inner cv joint,cup. So no worries, you didnt screw up

    Whew that's great, started to get a stomach ache thinking I made a rookie mistake. Pop out the rest and rebuild it on the bench? I will definitely be making all the marks before I attempt the other side.

    Yea build it on the bench or ground. Just remember which boots go where (inner, outter). :thumbsup:

    Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
    And remember the brown grease(the most liquid of them two) goes in the inner and the other one in the outer.
