Yep, the flange on the y pipe has a rounded extension portion that the gasket fits over and it'll stay in place while you bolt up the catback to the y pipe.

Pins the thermostat open on the trans so the fluid circulates fully through the trans cooler.

I jumped back into the Tacoma game after grabbing a used 2021 with 29k miles. I got tired of daily driving a manual, so I went from a 2020 to a GX460, but missed having a truck. The GX460 was great, but the outdated tech, premium gas and not having a truck bed was enough for me to cut my losses and come back (I'm definitely going to miss the ventilated seats though!).

Bronze TRD wheels will be going on soon, maybe some 5100s and then I'll probably look for a used camper shell or diamondback cover in the Socal area (keeping the build budget friendly until 2024/2025 tacoma details come out ... just in case I jump into a 4th gen). I should have skipped the GX step and gone from manual taco to auto taco, but the GX is an amazing vehicle as well (looking forward to seeing the next gen version).

That’s the one I got. I really like that compared to the one I had on my old truck

Exactly. Which was the key tool in determining I was about ONE half quart low of fluid from factory.

It now shifts smoother and differently than it has for the vehicles entire life.

That, disengaged the thermostat on the transmission fluid heater. The car care nut recommends this. Drill bit removed prior to truck leaving the garage.;)

Heater. That round thing in the pic is a trans fluid heater. Right here, bad angle but it is round.

Replaced the front door speakers with some really old Pioneer 2-ways that I had kicking around. I think my brother has them in his Bronco about 20 years ago. I couldn’t find much info on them, but they sound pretty good to me ( not an audiophile by any means). I completely forgot to take any pictures though. BA4974C2-D489-425E-BFC3-6C92B2894429.jpg

Hey there! I used an upholstery vinyl and used one yard for everything, i'll stick the link to where I got it below. Not super helpful but as far as a template goes I eyeballed it. I initially was going to trace the OEM fabric I took off but then I ended up laying out the trim pieces on the yard of fabric and cutting with plenty of fabric overlay to spare and started trimming as the install went along. Kinda like getting your hair cut, you can always cut more off but ya cant put it back on.

How much do you all think these wheels and tires are worth? About a year old, roughly 10k miles on them, need to do some digging for an actual number.

I wasn't aware that Tacoma's came with trans heaters. The part you have pinned open is the thermostat. The thermostat will open at 190 or whatever the rated temp is, so the fluid goes up the cooler near the front of the truck (mines near the bottom the radiator). I've seen a few members upgrade to larger aftermarket coolers if they tow a lot or drive in hot climates as the factory cooler is pretty small. I thought I read about Toyota doing away with these trans coolers in newer year Tacoma's, but I'm not 100% on that. Pinning the thermostat open is needed to check trans fluid levels during changes.

Here's another discussion on pinning the trans thermostat open...

    The list is growing.
It can be slid in between I suppose. It’s clearly the round type without the bolt holed oblong type gaskets.
