    We had the factory rep from Federal/Speer come out to one of our ranges recently to do ballistic testing with us. After half a day of punching gel with all sorts of rounds, his direct quote was: "I study ballistics for a living. I carry a 9mm with 147gr HST."

    The problem is the statement isn’t any different then any other expert.
    The FBI has an entire lab dedicated to ballistics, and they use a version of Hornady critical duty. Mostly in 9mm. A lot of us Feds/fed contractors use that stuff.

    Back in the day it was Speer gold dot.

    My local gun shop had a Springfield rep on site this weekend offering some good deals. I was able to score a 1911 Mil-Spec for $610 and they threw in a box of 45 auto self defense ammo and a Springfield swag bag to boot.
