Sincere question. What has been the top 3 reasons people chose the RSi over other “high-end” caps (RLD, Alucab, GFC, etc)?

It appears that most of these caps are within $1k of each other if you factor shipping and such.

for me, aesthetics and function..I like the windoors with the small sliding window (sport model) and the shape is more rounded than the other caps.

Got it, yeah the windows is a very nice feature. They definitely look good overall. One of my nit pick with their cap is the bed rails and the tail gate seem to have a decent sized reveal. I wonder why the topper isn’t completely flush with the bed rails/tail gate. It would seem like an easy design adjustment since the topper is made of several parts.

My guess is trying to have one topper for multiple brands of vehicles.

Aesthetics are what got me initiailly. RLD and Alu-cab were way too boxy looking. Now that I've read the negative RLD threads on their customer service I'm glad I didn't lean that way. Alu-cab didn't have their new contour style out when I was looking or I would have probably gone that route. GFC didn't have their topper out either at the time or I would have definitely given that one a hard look as well.

I went with the sport as I have dogs, live in SoCal and need to have airflow (windows) in the bed if the dogs are back there when going to the beach, hunting, etc.

So far I love my RSi and would highly recommend it after having fiberglass shells my whole life. The "windoors" are a game changer.

Locks can be opened from the inside and the seals seem better. No big difference

RSI replied to my question about the updated locks via IG. They said that once their Texas warehouse is up and running, they will pump out toppers w/ updated locks from there.

I’ve been hearing that from them for months! I just be decided I’d rather get the cap now and worry about the latches later.

Bummer. I may or may not do the same. Sort of leaning towards the smartcap or the Leer 100XR

Nooo…don’t do the Fiberglass top just because of the locks that will/can be upgraded before too long.

My wife was a hard no on a fiberglass top, but good with the RSI after she saw it in person on a buddy’s truck.

It really boils down to when my truck comes in Dec/ Jan and it's availability. RSI seems to have been telling people that a new lock is coming since late 2021/ early 2022.

Some of you may have noticed on the caps I have sent out lately that all models now accept the security screen. The screens are different for the new caps and the caps that come out of Texas will have a different screen as well. We just updated our website with all the new applications. All the new screens are still incoming from SA eta DEC. but if you want to get some on back order they are live on the site.

Does anyone know what the thread pattern is of the sliding nuts in the rsi roof rails?

Removed the window and cut a fiberglass screen to fit. I used hot glue to attach everything incase it turned out terrible. The hard part was getting the tension right on the screen. Too tight and the window won't seal. Too loose and it looks like dog wash. I used a lighter after this pic to even out the glue.
