Steel bead locks

Weighing bead grips against bead locks

The rig is an in town truck, off-road & rock crawler. My stock wheels are scared up, was going to get a set of method bead grip but they only allow to air down a few more lbs than regular wheels and I would feel bad scaring the shit out of them. I really don’t want to spend $500-800 per wheel on alum. bead locks. I can get into them for about $800 with local p/u & discount
Anyone have thoughts steel bead locks? Like these ones at battle born wheels.

I've ran them in the past, they work obviously. Heavy, but steel is nice where if you do bend one somehow, you can usually do some hammer work. Otherwise, best bet is to sit on the more racing/crawling based forums to score a set of used aluminums. Well worth it in my opinion both for weight savings compaired to steel, and the wheels are pretty much bulletproof nowadays. Most aluminums also have very good bolt head protection.
My dirtylife wheels weigh 35lbs, not bad since the bead grip wheels are around 31lbs if I remember.
