Ha! It's definitely great to see it coming together. It's pretty much exactly what I want for leaf springs suspension outside of maybe a different leaf pack.

Well the short of it is that I'm aiming for end of November to be done. Still got a few things to do, but I think it's doable!

Today marks a pretty big milestone in this rebuild. For the first time in 9 months, the truck is back on all 4 tires. Pretty freaking stoke with how the truck is looking now. Rear suspension is pretty much perfect for what I want with OEM leaf spring geometry. Here's hoping that I can get it tuned to work as well as I'd like.

While also working on the rear end, I was able to get a new heater core in the truck while waiting for paint to dry. T'was a huge PITA!

Lockers are also plumbed and tested. No leaks anywhere. Also installed a new higher rated pressure switch on the compressor.

Not as many photos of the rear as I would like, but I was definitely just pushing to get the truck back on the ground the last few days.

At this point, there's honestly not a whole lot to do anymore. Outside of accessory belts on the motor, all the fluids, filters, and pick up and install my rear driveshaft, she's pretty damn close to being a functionally vehicle again.

I figure the rear will settle some once you get it rolling around. That shackle angle don't look that great.

It's not ideal, but it's better than I expected. The shackles I have are fortunately adjustable so I'll be messing around with ride height once the front settles and breaks in a little more.

Very true. I'll be staying optimistic about it for now, unless I hate it from the start in which that'll just fuel the fire to link the rear end sooner :bananadead:

We've got a runner! Chasing a high idle gremlin, but I think it is related to the idle air control valve or a vacuum leak. Either way, truck sounds great and is running super smooth!

Outside that, truck is basically at 95% back together. All new fluids, new filters, new accessory belts, rebuilt rear driveshaft, etc... Just need to put the front of the truck back together, bleeding brakes, and drive her out of the garage. She's almost ready to hit the roads again and I cannot wait!

10 months of work has finally come to an end! I am beyond stoke on the outcome of what I created! I had a vision in my head at the start of this, outside of the blown motor, and this is pretty much right on what I was thinking. While not done, this is a great way to start to what I'm considering "Phase II."

For the first drive, I'm impressed so far. Outside of not being able to drive down the road straight, everything is nice and smooth. Engine is running perfect! 5.29s are a night and day difference. Front suspension is very nice and the rear suspension ain't too bad either. With some good valving and maybe a spring rate change in the front it should be pretty damn good eventually.

Before I dump more photos, I've got to give my parents a huge shoutout on this whole project. Even when I was not in the mood to work on this truck, my dad was always there to help push and motivate me when needed. My dad even helped a lot on the rear suspension getting everything welded up while I was at work. Also thanks mom for putting up with me and the stupid shit I do and letting me steal you parking spot for last 10 months.

    Okay here are the photos...

Also a video of the crawl ratio with the 5.29s. She's pretty damn slow now.

Now onward to getting the bugs and problems figured out while I get this truck broken in and ready for King of the Hammers in February.

Ha! My plan was to call my alignment guy first thing in the morning and see if I can drop the truck off on my lunch break. Definitely looking forward to see how the truck handles once the motor and diffs have more time to break in.

Now that it's on weight and fully flexed, any chance the tires will hit the outboarded shocks or no? What's the BS on those wheels?
