Close to new pricing, but that's for like new trucks. Look at the prices for a used 22 Frontier, it's about the same as a new 22 or 23. 23s are slightly higher as the yearly increase is added.

I don't know if any discounts are on the horizon. Going by the original post, discounts should be coming, but I don't expect they are.

Too many people living beyond their means, once the gas got too expensive they couldn't drive the ego-mobiles anymore. I personally thought about cashing out on my Taco last year but when the stealerships tried to give less then a wholesale trade-in figure for a truck that they would wash, wax and put on their lot for a potential $10K profit, I said 'screw them'. Maybe other people cashed in and got out of the loans. I'm sure that there are tons of repo's going on. Maybe some folks just rid of truck that they never used and took advantage of low interest rates and got into a nice car. there's lots to speculate, we will never know the full truth.

I'll go with to many people were/are over extended. Once this massive inflation started to hit home some tough decisions had to be made. Like selling your 50k vehicle for what you owed on it and moving to something more affordable.

I have also thought that dealerships were buying new trucks that they could sell for more as used.

I did a little research today. The local Honda and Nissan dealerships I drive past every day are no longer locally owned. They were bought out recently by a big company with dealerships all over the country. Shottenkirk. They have bought up quite a few dealerships all over North GA and they apparently own them all over the country.

The new owners didn't like the optics of an empty lot. Neither of them have been able to get enough new cars/trucks to fill up the lots. The trucks on these lots have been trucked in from other states in order to fill up the lots with inventory. And they know they will sell here.

Talking to a friend who owns a smaller used car lot he told me that demand and prices for full size trucks was still strong here. Although prices and demand have slowed a little in the last few months.

I paid $2.96 for my last tank of gas. Closer to $2.87 at Sams or Costco.

I can't recall when trucks haven't been in demand. Sure there were cheaper options when it came to trucks, but I can't recall them costing substantially less than a car.

I guess the demand for trucks can very by region.
