Got some little steel sticks in. 2" x 6" bar and 1 3/4" x 6" bar. Apparently they had to cut these from 2" and 1 3/4" plate respectively. How would they cut it to have such nice edges? Water jet? I feel like plasma would be a nasty edge.

 

That's a big plasma cut, possibly even a large torch

Waterjet wouldn't leave the scale.

 

For a huge smoker?

I have the same affliction. You have to say NO! Or if you want to be polite, say that you would like to help them but you cannot at this time. You do not owe them an explanation. Just say no, or, I am not sure, let me get back to you....

 

Took me a long time to realize this. If I can't help someone, I will try to find someone who can help them...most of the time.

 

A proper sized Plasma machine would slice them like butter.

Your thinking of a severance Cut at the absolute limit of the machine.

Even the right set up on a oxy-fuel torch would do a good job with a nice clean kerf
