BeatSonic CarPlay Mod

I've had my 2016 Limited since it hit the dealer lot nearly 6 years ago (time flies!). Over the last few months, I've been looking at options to add CarPlay functionality. I know I'm in the minority, but I actually like the look of the OEM dash, so not particularly interested in swapping for an aftermarket radio.

I've seen a few threads in the past about people going with the BeatSonic kit, and know it has slightly degraded resolution. Anyone have experience using the kit with a JBL head unit? Was the resolution any better? Other thoughts/pros/cons with their CarPlay kit?

Any recommendations would be appreciated. I had looked at doing an Entune3.0 HU swap, but that looks like more $$$ than I'd be willing to spend currently.
