I’m really into HomeKit for smart automations around my house, and I’ve been thinking a lot about setting up an Apple TV or HomePod to act as a hub for the truck. Then using a Raspberry Pi with HomeBridge to run accessories. My truck can then be setup and controlled as a second home.

There are all sorts of other RPi projects that could also be utilized on the same box. Ham Radio integration comes to mind, and I haven’t researched it yet, but there are a variety of OBD car integration projects also.

I was thinking that adding a 7” monitor to the dash would be a great way to contol everything. It can be attached to my tpam.

I have a second battery kit and 200w of solar. Most of this is usb powered, or has its own battery, so I’m not worried about powering devices. The automation possibilities are endless!

Easy/off the shelf HomeKit accessories I’ve been thinking of adding:

    • WLED controller with addressable light strips
    • Cameras
    • Temp/humidity sensors
    • Contact sensors (ie. camper door state and automation)
Is anyone doing anything like this already?
