'Home' 'Audio' 'Phone' 'Map' etc just suddenly stopped working.

The truck is only 7 months old and has ~5500 km on it.. I'm not sure how this has happened? Has anyone experienced this?

Yup, 3rd gen radios can lock up like this unfortunately. I've replaced a lot of radios in the last 5-6 years.

You can try to disconnect the battery and let it sit then try to see if it kicks in again. But likely the dealer will need to replace it.

Ear buds or bluetooth speaker are going to have to make do for now.

    What region of canada?

Thanks man I already tried the battery disconnect and unfortunately it did not work.

    I'm in BC Canada.

I have had nothing but issues with this truck since I got it in April. It's getting frustrating.

I had a 2016 and had radio issues constantly. Many customers have run into this as well.

But this happens on all new vehicles, I hear stories from other dealers.

I havent changed as many of the entune 3.0 like yours, but it still happens.

Hopefully they can get it in and order a radio asap.

Appreciate the messages and the heads up.

How can a truck so amazing be such a pain in the ass? Luckily I'm still under warranty so I guess it's good to get these issues out of the way now I suppose.

I'm currently also waiting for a new needle bearing as my current one causes vibrations. Wonder what else will go next lol

Needle bearings are a known issue on lifted trucks. You lifted?
Hadnt heard of radio issues tho.

Yeah, when I bought the truck I ordered the Toyota Lift Kit because they had a deal on it. It came with their lift + suspension + the pro grille.

Luckily because I got it from Toyota and they did the work at the dealership, it's now covered under my warranty so I don't have to pay for anything.

When I drive it now, at certain speeds, it's a vibration that doesn't go away and they used something called TASK in their dealership to assess the issue and get the part sent down.

    Vibrations can be...unsettling.
At least youre covered. No out of pocket. So...silver lining and all.

If the needle bearing is causing issues from that small of a lift, replacing it isn't likely to solve the issue...

The needle bearing is a well known & documented issue with 2-3" lifts but this is the first instance I've heard of this with the pro lift.

I have not had any issues...and I've had my Sport for 18+ months.

PITA but at least you're under warranty and can have it repaired/replaced.

Put the truck in 4wd while in that vibration speed range (~35-45mph/55-75kph) and see if it goes away. 95% change it does. If so, get an ECGS bushing instead of the needle bearing and itll solve your problem.

I appreciate that a lot. It turns out that putting it in 4wd does make it go away. The Toyota Mechanic actually mentioned exactly what you said he will get the bushing done for me.

Love this forum for helpful people like you - big thank you!

That is awesome and surprising in that Toyota will warranty a part with non OEM.

he actually mentioned that Toyota won't cover the part, so I will have to pay for the part. He said they can help with the order and it should cost me about $85 but the labor will be done for free for me because of the work done with my lift at their dealership.

Nice & they'll likely warranty that work.
