Hey hey... the newest guy yet! Living here on the mid coast of Maine.. I've always been a gen 1 4runner guy. And turned my daughter into a fan as well as she was raised in them -being a solo parent2her.. now she's 18 & has her own '88 &loves it. &of course is the envy of all her friends. Lol!
-so I've got a 2001 xtra cab sr5 2.7liter auto 4x4 tacoma now. Got it 2yrs ago from one of my carpentry customers. It was his dads..who dies at 96 last year. So I got it w only 118k miles for $1500 and in pretty good shape. Yeah it was a steal. So now I've been replacing everything in the front end, besides all the usuals..brakes,rotors,etc.. any normal rust away or wear out part. I do come on here when I have questions buy just search previous convos.. heh heh . It's been a great source of info for sure. I'm a pretty fair mechanic and do all my own work unless I need a lift. Both my older brothers were total gear heads growing up so u knw hw tht rubs off... -"here..hold this coil wire as I turn it over and tell me if it sparks."
-oh yeah! I fell for that...-once! Lol!
-anyhw.. I'd write a whole bio.. but the weather is warm today and I have sway bar bushings to replace.
I'm glad I finally broke down and joined the party here.. I've been on here dozens of times but just never made it to the sign up page..!!

Hey! Thanks for the welcome! So our trucks are pretty similar... even the color. Lol! I've got a question.. I've noticed off some u tube vids on stabilizer bar bushing replacement.. tht most other trucks in our gen (1) tht are 4wd have a vertical link off the lower control arm that sticks straight up and the stabilizer bar end fits down onto it -squashed between little bushings (are you familiar?). Well mine is different.. it has a vertical body but attaches below and above with horizontal threaded ams sticking off it that have the little socket connected to the vertical body..one is to a bracket off the lca and the other to the end of the stabilizer bar.. anyhw.. I was going to throw this out there as a general question..but since I see our trucks are very similar..I thought I'd ask you. :) and I'm new here so posting stuff is still all new to me...even navigating this site is confusing enuff.. lol! Thanks!!
