Get a probe/volt meter and check for power at socket, pigtail connector and work backward

Would help to know what year model your truck is to look up the appropriate diagrams.

Yup need to know what year.....

If you have 01-04 & you installed new aftermarket tail lights (lens + housings), it may be the housings. I've tried 2 different aftermarket housings, they caused weird issues like that for me.... I think it was the passenger side also. I never bothered to check the wiring to figure it out. I only wanted the new lenses so I just put my oem housings back in.

IIRC if putting 01-04 taillights on 00 & older, need to rewire.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
After 2000 the design of the lenses changed.

Be good to know what year your working on.

Might be as simple as a failed bulb or a bad socket out of the box . That seems quite common anymore.

Time to invest in a simple Multi Meter.

If you have a trailer harness, try unplugging that as the taillights piggy back off the trailer harness. See if that changes your light scenario.
Just messed with this a few weeks ago with my '04. Ended up trailer harness was corroded. Most designs for the Tacoma piggy back off the wiring coming to the drive side and then extended to the passenger side. Mostly your looking for grounding wire issues.

So I pulled all the wires out of the lum. Did not find a short or a pinched wire. Plugged the old housing in and it works like a champ. Wireing sucks just like trying to find bigfoot
