Hello Tacoma fan. I need help figuring out what to do here. My 2nd gen Tacoma ignition would not turn. At some point my wife got in it and simply turned it on. I have tried for days and can’t seem to get it to turn. I believe it’s the tumbler, I tried to lube it, shock it but nothing. I have a new ignition on the way but the wheel is locked covering one of the screws. What are my options to get the wheel to move? Also if you have another recommendation please let me know.

I have tried it, maybe not hard enough, however, I can fell the click release from the steering wheel mildly but it won’t release the wheel completely.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Are the wheels turned? You said you may not have yanked the wheel hard enough; I think that’s your problem right there

Typically your only options for a lock cylinder that won't turn are to get it to turn on 1 last time or to drill the locking bar out of the lock cylinder.
If you have another key try that, if you do manage to get it to turn on do not turn it back off.
As others have said moving the wheel back and forth while trying to turn it may help if it is bound up on the steering lock, otherwise jiggling the key and trying moltiple keys and orientations is your best bet.

Lock cylinders typically give fair warning when they are getting worn out in that you have to jiggle the key a bit to get it to turn, when this starts to happen get the lock cylinder replaced as soon as you can. Don't wait until it takes serious efforts to get it to turn on as it may be too late at that point as you have discovered.

The wheels are slightly turned exposing only one of the screws to remove the SC cover. It’s definitely not your simple, typical wheel locked issue. I just yanked the heck out of it while trying the key.

And I can’t move the wheel to remove the wheel and access the bottom of the cylinder. What are my options?

I'm not sure, I haven't had to deal with a Toyota lock cylinder yet.
Getting the column covers off probably won't help you anyway as you still have to get the key to turn to remove the lock cylinder.

The last one I had to deal with was on a Ford Focus and there was a specific spot to drill to get the locking bar out without damaging the housing but I'm not sure if Toyota's have a spot like that or not or where it would be.

A locksmith would probably be your best option but I don't know what something like that would cost.
