I installed a Toyota roof rack on my 21 Tacoma. Now when I go thru car wash and heavy rain.. I have a leak in my upholstery and pillars. I can find what hole it's coming from?!?! Has this happened to anyone else!

What did you use to seal the holes?

I might have the same issue. Noticed my seat belt was wet when I pulled it out after the first significant rain this year. Weird thing is we’ve had a couple more rains and it hasn’t happened since.

I also have the factory roof rack. If it happens again, was going to pull it off and put a little silicone in the holes if it looks like that’s where it’s coming from…

I'd remove the rack and seal the holes with butyl tape, or as a last resort, silicone. Make a circle around the bolt holes, then install the rack again.

I used this cheap plastic rings that stick on around the hole. I might need to remove it and buy a good silicone sealer. Thanks for the heads up.

When I did my OEM rack I flooded each hole with silicone glue, then filled the area around them with silicone too.

If you have a sunroof, clean out your drain tubes. but, yes... the holes all need a sealant, silicone, windshield urethane, etc... removed my roof rack, sealed the holes with sealant, and installed new moulding strips.

    good luck! Ski

Just pull a screw, add clear silicone to the hole but not down into the roof void and then tighten the screw. If you end up driving the silicone all down into the hole squirt a glob on the threads prior to seating the screw. Wipe off the excess and repeat.
