Individual letters weren't bad even for my clumsy hands. Lay it flat on a counter, arrange the letters, then peel and stick starting with the YO and work outwards.

If you want the Toyota Logo on your grille there is plenty of room for forgiveness when mounting/centering it to the grille.

When you drill the holes for the pegs of the Toyota logo when mounting it to the badge area of the grille you can make the holes larger than they need to be and it doesn't have to be an exact spot on drill hole.

This is because you can hold the emblem in place with 3M double sided adhesive tape that is taped onto the backside of the Toyota logo that is pressed against the badge area of the grille. In addition to the 3M tape I use silicon/epoxy/ or whatever adhesive you want to fill the gaps and bond the pegs to the backside of the grille.

There is also the easy route of just cutting off the pegs of the Toyota logo and using double sided 3M tape and bonding it to the badge area without having to drill any holes but be sure to test the logo is securely mounted.

I am in the process of making an install video for the grilles that I think will be a great visual for customers.

Grill tossed on! Pretty dang easy to put on. Only downer was my lack of reading and having to purchase the grill moulding that the trd pro grill didn’t use.

I've ordered my grill. Just need the Toyota logo and I'm all set. Where can I get the thick TOYOTA letters IN GREY like the ones in this picture? I've seen some individual thin grey letters on this grill and I don't like those. Also don't want them in white.

    Thanks

What some customers do is they cut off the pegs of the emblem and use double sided industrial strength 3M tape and just tape it to the badge area of the grille. That tape is pretty strong.

Although the most secure route is to:
    - Mark the pegs of the emblem where the emblem will be centered over the badge area
    - Drill holes at the marked spots
    - Place embelm's pegs through the drilled holes and center emblem.
    - Epoxy/silicone/glue the pegs from the backside of the grille.

Also there is plenty of room for forgiveness/not having to be dead on accurate when drilling the holes for the pegs, so no need to worry about drilling the holes.

No plans at the moment, although a lot of customers do say the X-Trek Grille reminds them of a retro look.

Maybe I should start calling it a retro style grille?

Can someone measure the width of the top grill opening for me? Measured at the widest point up against the first cross bar.

I have had an X-Trek grill on the front end of my truck for years. Love it!

My X-Trek grill was recently smashed by another driver, slow accident in my driveway. Gonna need to buy a replacement. Any sales coming up or Tacoma World member discounts I should know about it?!

Just installed my grille! Absolutely in love with it. Just waiting for my 4Runner letters now. Couldn’t wait for those before getting it on lol I’ve been getting the TSS Clean Sensor error. I’m pretty sure it’s due to the condensation build-up behind the acrylic. Any remedies for this?

I have a lot of personal experience with this. :anonymous:

That error will pop up from a couple of variables.

First and foremost, check your acrylic shield. Make sure its clean, and that the blue protective cling is removed/discarded from BOTH sides.

If you blacked it out like I did, :anonymous::anonymous::anonymous: your black out method has to be FLAWLESS. One single layer of vinyl, with ZERO bubbles, trapped dust, scratches, or moisture. Even the tiniest dust speck will cause an error. Ask me how I know. :cookiemonster:

Second, check your positioning. Sometimes it helps to take the sensor off completely and reinstall. Make sure that it sits level and the sensor is square with the shield/metal brackets. Hole positioning may need to be adjusted. My truck loves the center hole position and will throw a fit within the first 1/4 mile if it is mounted on either the top or bottom positions. Its a trick to get that lower right bolt into place with the sensor in center position AND still keep it square, I know. It takes some fiddling. But it will error on me if it isnt.

Its a wild thing to adjust, where you fiddle with it, drive 10 miles, wait for the error to pop, then go home and fiddle with it some more. But once you get it adjusted right, it works beautifully, exactly as it did stock. In a weird almost maddening way it will run without complaint through rain, snow, and mud once its set. Like, why can it do that but will throw a fit over a tiny air bubble? :annoyed:
