Recently I purchased a Tonneau truck bed cover that folds up. The Service Rep showed me how to do it. He made it look so simple but alas it is impossible for me to lift. Are others having the same problem or is it me? What is the trick to lift the cover by oneself? Tacoma 16.HEIC.jpg

You gotta have one big, beefy arm.

    Like Trogdor.

In the demonstration, did you miss that he casually unlatched in the back? There is a latch on the driver's side and potentially on the passenger side.

Possible that I missed a detail like that. I hope it is something simple. The only way for me to know is to take it back and have the Service Dept. rep show me again.

Oh, I do know there are two latches to press simultaneously and then lift. I don't have the strength to unlatch both and hold them in the unlocked position plus lift the tonneau. It is too heavy

Here's an update about the Tonneau trifold cover for my 2016 that I cannot unlatch to open. Called the Toyota dealer. He confirmed it is a genuine Toyota accessory. He further explained to open - pull a cord that will release the latches and then lift up. It opens easily. Voila! The moral of the story......ask questions, get answers, Toyota makes great trucks.
