Unfortunately, nothing on the 2021 yet. When it is supported I will be sure to reach out to you.

No developments. I think there was a blurb about saying that other 2.7l ECUs were on the way to him.

We still don't have the 2016 - 2017 MT ECU ID.

What tool do I need to purchase to read a 3rd gen's ECU? If the tool is affordable, and the process simple, I might be able to get you what you need from my truck.

So possibly just an "over the counter" scan tool will work. What do you recommend? Which one do you use?

    Yessir.

It seems that there is some divergence there. I have an ancient one (like 8yrs old) that still works great for Android. If buying new, I would get this:

iOS folks have different BT / WiFi connection requirements that make no sense to me.

You'll also need one of those apps. But, it all comes in handy for other OBD functions on the Taco and other vehicles.

I believe most modern OBDii readers that provide “Vehicle Information” will show the ECU ID, my cheap 2 year old $35 Chinesium reader does.

That is a shitty attitude. Other folks have provided the info needed for support for the 2019s, 2021s, and 2022s. Nothing else can be done from this end, unlike for the 2016 - 2017 folks, where info is still needed.

Dude says he needs physical possession of the ecu to make things happen. I maybe leaving country in December for 6-8 weeks and considering pulling mine out of my 22 and sending it to him if I can get some assurances

I'm not asking for your faith in vF Tuner, but saying that you don't care about 2016s and just want a tune is pretty crappy. Everyone should get access as soon as possible.
