So your T-case was a mechanical speedometer output? Mines electrical. I'm gonna have to do some more fuxing around to figure out what needs to be cut and spliced.

Ya. The t-case is from a 96... my speedo sensor that was originally in my 2wd 2002 trans was electrical.

I have 2 sensor connections form the 00 T case, and one from the 2wd prerunner harness. Should be able to cut my 4x harness, and splice in the 2 connectors, and make it all work.

That sounds like it would work. One of the best guys on this site to ask would probably be @BartMaster1234... if he doesn't know, he knows someone who does know.

Sweet! Hey @BartMaster1234 are you familiar with the wire connections? Best bet is going to be to head to the build thread, eh?

eBay... it was around $45. But you need to order valve body gaskets. You can get those directly from Trans-go. If I were doing it all over I'd probably just order the kit and gaskets from Trans-go to begin with. I didn't know I'd need the valve body gaskets when I ordered the shift kit.

Also, the directions will give you a part number for the Lock up relay valve assembly. It suggests replacing it while you have the valve body open already. I would highly suggest doing that. I was able to get the OEM part from McGeorge Toyota for 1/3 the price my local STEALERship wanted for it.

I'm pretty sure he's trying to make an 00 prerunner speed sensor (electrical) work with an 02 t-case (electrical) which would mean all he has to do is extend the wires and use the prerunner sensor in the transfer case.

But I'm not entirely sure so I figured it's better to put him in touch with you.

Oh yeah it’s just as simple as matching the wires and extending them with, I’d say 18-22ga.

I went the extra mile and actually bought a 12” VSS wiring pigtail from a parts car.

Also I didn’t need to switch speed sensors unless they’re different. I put a 1999 A340F in my 1998. Everything plugged in except one redundant transmission fluid sensor. I just swapped the old one and it worked flawlessly.

    I’m mating a 00 4wd t case and transmission to a 01 2wd prerunner harness. I’m about to head to the garage. I’ll snap a couple pics.

All your stock wiring will plug into the A340F except the VSS. Just extend the wires for it. If something doesn’t plug in, swap the A340E sensors.

Been paging thru all your build threads and have gained some awesome knowledge I bookmarked for future projects on my truck... Thinking about doing the twin sticks, and I am curious if you have an opinion/review on them- i.e. would you put them in again? Also, where did you get the leather boot for them, that thing looks slick and really cleans up the interior look!

Would definately do the twin sticks again. Was really pretty easy to do. Really wasn't any downside to doing it. Just have to seal up the hole in the floorboard where the sticks come through. (That ended up being pretty simple as well).

The leather boot came from a guy who makes them on eBay. Just searched twin stick boot and found them. I think they are for some Dodge.

Figure I'd update this thread, rather than making an entire new one.

So... 4 years later I'm dusting off this thread to add some new stuff. Not entirely sure what I'm getting in to, but I'm formulating a plan LOL.

I'll be removing the front driveline this weekend, to get it ready to go to the driveline shop and get lengthened.

Fortunately, I have a spare rear driveline. I'm ordering up a couple new U-joints and a new carrier bearing, just to freshen them up before I have the rear driveline shortened.

    U-joints = https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000CKR6RS

    Carrier Bearing = https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GAPFD2E

My buddy picked up from Trail Gear for me. (So, I don't have to drive down to Fresno on a weekday.)

Carrier Bearing and U-joints are on the way.

@foxrcing07 found me a great price on 1.75 x .120 DOM .. Will probably pick up Thursday or Friday. (for fabricating the crossmember/skidplate)

Made some progress on the dual cases. Not a lot, and in a round about way. lol

Removed the front driveline (to take to the shop and get lengthened)

Found my Pre Runner Drive line front section in a pile of parts, got the back section out of the truck (kept in there as a spare) (to get shortened)

The Triple Sticks arrived, as did a new Carrier Bearing (I'll put the new CB on before taking the DLs down to get cut and balanced)

    20221119_124216.jpg

A body lift is going to be part of this adventure. Should give me more room to work. And make it so the holes in the floor board don't have to be AS big.

A body lift isn't needed for a dual case... but it'll also be useful for other future plans. I've had a Daystar body lift on the shelf for over a year. Just needed a good reason to put it on... now I have a few.

The blocks for the bed body lift are a little on the small side for the weight I carry, so I needed to make up new (bigger) ones to distribute the load better.

I got the measurements I need, cut the blocks and the camps for the blocks, and drilled out for 2 of the bushing sleeves yesterday.

    20221119_190513.jpg

Got side tracked with some other stuff today. Needed to clean up the garage cause I was tripping on shit all day yesterday. But still managed to get the rest of the holes drilled for the bushing sleeves.

    20221120_181645.jpg

Now I just need to grind the sleeves flush and bevel them, clean everything up, and zap them together.
