Well… after another 800 miles, I can see what everyone is talking about. BUT it really doesn’t bother me. If it was under $200, and made any real difference to MPG, I would have it tuned. But I can definitely live with it. Plus, engine and transmission don’t seem to care. They seem to last a long time and that’s what is most important to me. So I will be happy to just let do it’s thing.

FWIW and YMMV - I experience some difficulty with the 3.5L A/T combo making it up grades while turning such low RPMs.

I really hate to have to stomp on the gas to get the vehicle to down-shift. What I have found however is very nice response if I just move the shifter from "D" over to "S", which drops the transmission into 4th gear. RPMs go up and the truck has more power to ascend the grade without me needing to punch the throttle. Specially in the 45-50MPH range.

And when the vehicle speeds up, or I achieve the plateau, I just push the shifter to the right and back into "D".

Others may want to give this a try.

Your experience is what really matters. In fact if not for this forum I wouldn’t have noticed some issues associated with gen 3’s .

Yeah, I’m with you. Seating didn’t bother me, then I heard of Seat Jackers. Tried them and loved them.

    That's the 2.3 (4 cylinder). The 2.7 is a 6 cylinder.
