It was really awesome. All I want to do is make setting up the platform itself easier but that’s not too difficult. I may even make a second platform just for sleeping versus using the one I already have back there and shimming it with storage totes and medical books.

 

@TacoFMS my phone is acting up. I bought this kit because of the nice metal tools and then supplemented it with proper brown plugs.

I like that first one, seems pretty solid. Brown plugs, metal tools, other supporting tools, soft sided case.

 

Seems the harbor freight one is pretty close to the same but with a hard plastic case and double the plugs.... but the hard plastic case may take up a bit too much space.

 

My first plug kit was the arb one and had a similar case. It was just unnecessarily large for what it was carrying. I like the soft case, could probably shove it in a glovebox or something.

That’s the kit that I had and plugged the sidewall with. Along with the help of Randy’s gasket sealer it almost made it all the way home before I swapped in the spare.

 

It was literally perfect timing when it finally failed.

 

Yeah, no kidding. @TacoFMS I usually drive past this rest area that Randy stops at and this time I decided to stop. It’s only about 20 min from my house. It literally must have just started leaking and we swapped the spare on.

 

Nice. Glad it ended well and not disastrous.

 

Pieces are starting to arrive. Waiting on a 4’ straight section and muffler (arriving tomorrow) and then all the fancy parts from Dirt Skum.

 

Hope you have fun with this project! I know I actually enjoyed doing mine.

 

I am really looking forward to it as well. It’ll be like a fun puzzle project getting all the different cuts where I want them to route it up and out.

I am a true menace to society. It isn’t any quieter than straight pipes but now I can at least say I tried. Waiting on the bedside exit to arrive today and then will continue.

I also had to sacrifice my wife’s handheld mirror, it’s now a garage mirror. I needed it to see on top of the tube to get that last 1” of weld. It’s all covered in burn marks now.
