I just bought a 2019 SR5 with 22k miles. It is a certified vehicle from a Toyota dealership in Austin with the remainder of the 7 year 100k miles powertrain warrantee left over. I can sign up for a comprehensive warrantee covering everything mechanical & electrical plus starting a new powertrain warrantee from purchase date for an extra $3400. I'm curious if y'all think it's worth it? It also covers towing to dealership & rental/loaner car if needed. Basically everything besides wear items & regular maintenance service.

Holy shit, 3400? Id save that 3400 in reserve, and just payfor a POTENTIAL repair yourself, IF it comes up.

Check on breakdown insurance from your auto insurance.

I had Breakdown Ins. when I was with Geico, but when I moved to NC Geico was very expensive, so I had to switch to a company that does not offer Breakdown Ins.

Welcome to TW, I'm a new member also, I recently bought a 2022 Tacoma with a little over 6,000 miles on it, the dealership I bought it from in NC has a lifetime power train warranty as long as you have all the recommended services done at a certified Toyota dealership. I don't know how many other Toyota dealerships offer this but I didn't have to pay anything extra for it, it's offered on all the Toyota's they sell.

I didn't purchase a extended warranty it is offered at the dealership I purchased my truck at, it was Scott Clark Toyota of Charlotte, they offer that with all there new and used Toyota's they sell, the only downside is you can't do much in modifications or it will void the warranty. I would ask the whatscp people if you do modifications outside of OEM if it will void there warranty.
