Anyone ever add a light to the glass of a camper shell for over head when using tailgate when camping? Just seeing what options are out there as I haven't seen anything.

I've got a couple of lanterns and I've stuck one of those (formerly free w/ coupon) blue Harbor Freight lights on the window (I have Velcro stuck on the window to hold Reflectix on so I just put some Velcro on the back of one of the cheap lights) but on the recommendation of someone on here (can't remember who it was but thanks!) I ordered one of those USB powered LED bulbs and just hang it on the locking bar over the tailgate. It works great for cooking, cleaning fish, working on projects, in the back, in a tent, etc.

Here's a random example that looks like the one I got; they all look about the same but there are some with different features available. The one I have is dimmable and you can change the temp from a yellowish to more white. It lives in the back of my truck in the cardboard box it came in with the other camping gear along with a spare power bank.

I use this. It has a metal piece that secures with tape and a magnet on the light so you can remove it to charge or just as a flashlight

Best camp lighting set-up I have had in more than fifty years of camping. One light. LED. 12V. 65 watts. 15,200 lumens. Telescoping pole. Sets up quick. Best part? The light is up, out of everyone's eyes. No glare. How bright is it? Look at that white cooler! It's like the Burning Bush is up there. It's 2-3X brighter than a good streetlight.

Mount on cargo rack with this bracket, gets it up even higher.

When I don't have this up I use a ZebraLight 1300 lumen headlight. You forget it's on your head, and then the light is just there, wherever you look.

I use a National Luna touch light attached to the rear hatch of my shell with double sided tape. Didn't have to find anywhere to put a switch and it draws very little power.

Yeah, and it worked great this fall. I did one circuit on the rear glass and a second inside the cap, independently switched. Dual color super bright LEDs.

Got them from Matt Gecko and would highly recommend. Just sent him the rear glass measurements and what I was hoping for, and a high quality kit and wiring instructions for a custom install arrived a few days later. Doesn’t get any better than that.
