    Here in CA we have metering lights when entering the freeway during rush hour. Stop at red, go at green. Anyone else that frequents these things having trouble tripping them? I've experienced this on my moto and the fix was to add a piece of metal to help trigger the magnets in the road. So, my question is, could my aluminum skid plate (and possibly lift) cause the metering light to not trip? It happens about 50% of the time.

    I stop, establish and creep forward to trigger the bad ones. Depends if its a camera or a magnet.

    CA is hell for driving, how long is your drive to work?

    Metering lights? Meaning you come to a full stop before trying to merge into interstate-speed traffic? That sounds terrible

    haha no kidding!
    They tried some in MO years ago,,,,,, 1 in every 100 vehicles stopped, but if you did, you were passed on the shoulder like getting out of the draft at a super speedway.

    We have those around Portland, see lots of people blow right past them but to answer your question I have a stock taco so it always triggers the lights so it may have something to do with the configuration of your taco.

    Most on ramps in the greater Seattle area have metering lights... I've never had issue triggering them in my Tacoma... or on my motorcycle.

    Try entering Parkway from a Stop sign with no ramp to pick up speed. At the same time the average speed of cars on the parkway is 70-80mph.
    Yup, that's a Merritt Parkway for you in CT :anonymous:.

    We have them in AZ and I have the exact same problem with my truck. It's supposed to be every other car and most driver's just go one after another and ignore the light.

    Also, I don't know what it is with AZ drivers entering freeway on ramps who refuse to hit the gas and only go about 40. The entire chain of cars gets bottlenecked. :annoyed: I usually cut across and make my own path. :burnrubber:

    Looks green to me. :notsure::burnrubber:

    Ya wanna know scary? Getting stuck behind a 18 wheeler on one of these lights. Nothing like the thrill of merging into freeway speed at 6 mph lol!

    I don’t have that problem in Oregon. California needs to use the same motion sensor that is on the Golden Gate Bridge. I bet California never misses a vehicle going over a toll bridge.

    They have those stupid things in seattle, and people there stop for them. They put them up in Spokane recently and people drive right through them or around people that stop for them haha
