Towed a 2200 lb dual axle trailer with a 1700 lb lathe on a 200lb wood skid / pallet and a standard pallet jack 150 lbs or so..So about 4,250 lbs on flatish highway no rain, well over the 3,500 lb Toyota / DOT tow rating but under the 2500kg, its actual capacity..no pics sorry..sure it was some weight for 92 miles on the way back, 92 miles with no lathe in the trailer on the way there but still had the skid , pallet jack and trailer..drove the speed limt no problems both ways..$50 in fuel total at $3.39 a gallon of 87..Would I do it again..Most definitely without any worries in dry weather on a weekend morning with no traffic..Would I do that 5 days a week in traffic probably not..but that's my slight roll of the dice..your mileage my vary..

4x4x8' "toy hauler" enclosed trailer, I'm waffling about turning into a sort of squareback type of teardrop trailer.

700lbs, and tows like pulling a parachute :anonymous:

When I had the Tacoma I towed 2 boats which weren't that big or heavy. I still didn't like pulling out in traffic though. The speed boat had almost 200 more hp than the Tacoma! ;)

It struggles way too much to pull a 1/2 cord of wood and the trailer up any kind of grade. Stopping isn't too bad ( decent brakes) but having the trans drop into 2nd gear and the engine is screaming around 5K just to maintain 20mph isn't very good IMO. I use the 3rd gen T4R to do any towing duties.

I didn't take a pic of it but, 2 cubic yards of compost for the two Birdies raised garden beds in the back yard. All those trips back and forth with the wheelbarrow. My back is still mad at me. lol

Do you have an automatic? I have a 5 speed and pull trailers through West Virginia on a regular basis and it does a decent job.

Yes that was in a trailer. I'm not sure the 5ft. bed would even hold a yard. I did haul a yard in the 6ft. bed of a 2019 and the frame sat about an inch off the bump stop.
