I'm the opposite of OP. Park the car (corvette) in winter and drive the Taco everywhere, snow, ice, salt, no problem.

lol. For the contrary, one of the 5 reasons I got my Tacoma is so I can enjoy going nature when it snows in the Rockies of Utah. I drive more during the snow outside of the city. I then take the time to spray water underneath removing all the salt each time to prevent rust. I keep my truck in tip top shape. The truck is my ultimate survival right and it works for me. Driving it regularly will make my truck last longer since all the engine oil, both difference oils and other fluids keep getting circulated which will out live those unused seasonal cars.
No issues or notice any differences with the clutch and gear box when shifting through any of the 6 speeds whatsoever in winter or summer.
    Use your truck wisely.

My 2008 5 speed man Scion TC is my every day city driver when the roads are clear of slush and snow.

Yep, Taco goes into garage once salt hits the roads. Will come out once rain washes the streets off.

I can understand not wanting to drive many cars/trucks in the snow for various reasons, a Tacoma is not one of’em.

Hell has frozen over…storing a truck in the winter. Good hell, it’s a truck. Use it.

Seven years my truck has never been in the garage. One of the reasons I have 4WD is because we get snow.

I don't think most people that live in warmer climates realize what happens when you drive on salt covered roads for 3 or 4 months each year. I have seen rust holes in the body of some vehicles in less than 10 years and rust spots in 6 years. We get a "beater with a heater".

The rusting process doesn't even begin to happen until the temps warm up so your vehicle is plenty safe at 8F with salt on it.

Yep. I need to put it up on jack stands to keep the tires from getting flat spots this year. I don't use a cover though. I don't want to create any more protected spaces for mice. The Taco is my toy, I have a work truck and a 20 year old CRV (which does way better on snow and ice roads anyway).

Having been on this forum for some months now I figured I would be getting ridiculous rust belt vehicle care advice from people in the desert and of course, California.
Not my first forum rodeo, and this place is predictable as hell!

I have one of these for under the hood and I also put a bigger 110v one on the floor blasting between the tires. I also put glue traps around the tires. So far so good for the last few years.
