It’s a decent muffler. Just don’t expect it to sound super loud and throaty. It does it’s job at a good price point.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Since you seem to live where you see Winter meaning Winter Chemicals plan on replacing your $20.00 Muffler next spring.

They work great in the Sunny dry climate not so much other places.

    Good Luck.

as someone who also lives in a winter climate with nasty chemicals I can call fake news on this statement. Will it last as long as a high end stainless muffler? Absolutely not, but they will definitely last a lot longer than one winter.

Time will tell will it not.

I have seen it happen I have replaced a few .

    Liquid Brine is brutal .

Maybe some fault goes to a poorly secured exhaust system. Most failed where the pipes were welded to muffler body.

I would love to be completely wrong maybe I just saw a bunch that had faults from new.

Yes time will tell. I’m not arguing that the brine crap isn’t horrible, I’d much rather them go back to good old sand and salt personally, nor am I arguing that it’s not going to rust out. I’m just saying your one winter time frame is a bit over exaggerated, at least in my experience. I’ve used plenty of cheap mufflers in my area with liquid brine and never had one not make it at least 4-5 years. And yes they always seem to fail at the welds when they do finally rot out.

It also might have something to do with the damp climate here in Pa .

Steel will rust inside on the rack that never saw any winter Chemicals .

I just call things like I see them.

I have a Flowmaster 60 series Delta Flow. I guess the Delta Flow is more for the 4- and 6-cylinder imports. I want to say that it was a $150.00 installed but that was over 20 years ago and it still going strong. The muffler shop cut my stock muffler out and welded this one in using the stock piping and haven't had any issues with it.

Try offer up or Craigslist. Bought a somewhat new muffler from 3rd gen tacoma, he was asking 17 dollars gave him 20.

I’ve used walker exhausts from advanced auto parts. They’re better than nothing but not by much. I have had to replace the walker at least 2x as they don’t last anywhere near the time that OEM does although they are far cheaper. I guess it all depends on how long you want to keep it.

    Good luck.

Is there any "down side" to making my Tacoma as quiet as possible? I'm one of those people that doesn't need to let the neighborhood know I'm cranking my truck or mashing the accelerator.

I don’t see any downsides at all. Despite the old biker adage, loud pipes do not save lives so why piss off your neighbors by using a louder exhaust? It’s not like these are race cars that may benefit from such modifications so folks who want to use a loud exhaust, IMO, just didn’t have enough attention paid to them as children and are trying to make up for it with their car or truck. No thanks, I’d rather be the gray man.
