How is she doing after the surgery Lord knows I’ve been there a couple times? How are you after this last cutting session? Christie’s leg looks like they took a little icecream scoop to it

i had the choice of cut and stitch or the melon ball scoop. chose the cut n stitch as it heals faster, got 14 stitches on my side above the hip. still loaded the deer like a man(lol). Joy is doing good but cant sleep. it aches at nite. hope Christie heals well. have a good one:thumbsup:

There is over 1000 acres of corn fields on 3 sides now . More homes further down in front of the newly cleared land . The piece I hunt is 130 acres with about 10 of it nasty thick multi flora rose and other crap where I hunt with the rifle . That where the deer go when the shooting starts tomorrow. :fingerscrossed: For a small mountain there are quite a few guys hunting it . There is one land owner who’s property borders us and his son who is in his mid 30s is a complete asshole . I know he has been feeding the deer heavily which is illegal in NY . Plus he’s a trespasser. Drives around on a UTV after opening day blasting at everything.

Picked up daughters deer yesterday. Backstraps left whole, vacuum sealed. Steaks cut 1/2” thick, 4 to a pack, and the rest ground in burger.

That looks great. I do it all myself but wish I had a legit processor near me to save me time. Love the feeling of stacking up venison in the freezer.

We used to do all of our own, hard to find time now since getting married and having kids. It’s easier to just pay the man.

I still do my own most of the time but with the 3rd claimed son Dalson starting a processing business called him. he was actually hunting a farm a few miles from the house.he stopped and picked it up. crawled my butt for not calling him to help get it out. just doing whole pieces roast, backstraps and grind the shoulders,im going over there today to see if i can help him some.he has been swamped busy and everyone likes what he has done.his bologna has been a hit. he had a get together last year with different bologna recipes to taste test. we tweeked his pork to deer ratio to what we use and bam. the youngin has done 84 deer this year and turned away twice that.told him last night to not get burned out.

Finally starting to see some buck movement. Still haven’t seen much sign of rut action, but I had a couple new bucks come in yesterday. Of course, I was in a different spot. Luckily I’ve got all week off starting tomorrow, so we’ll see what happens. The first buck, I got a single pic of him last year and never saw him again until someone posted a pic of him after the season was over a couple miles from where I saw him. Hopefully he sticks around this time instead of ghosting on me
