I think this one works on his own stuff haha. I learned a lot owning the BMW, repaired some pretty advanced shit, also learned it was expensive to even DIY those cars just due to the sheer amount of specialty tools necessary. If I had to pay to have someone else work on it, well lets be honest that wouldn't ever happen I'm not in the business of wasting that much money.

 

I just wish I had the garage space that some of you have. Shamelessly jealous of good indoor work space.

 

this is how I felt owning the 6.0l. there's so much to go wrong with electronically controlled HEUI system diagnosing things accurately was an art on its own

 

There's certainly a limit of what I will do myself. I need to get some fresh oil in mine and see if the cams quiet down otherwise I'm probably looking and a quite expensive fix in the coming years. Lots of "while your in there" repairs but should bullet proof it for a long time to come.

 

Diag on the BMW was like application of degree material you learned early on and had to relearn and update to modern standards. Datalogging was a godsend

 

You wouldn't happen to have an mp3 for this would you? Be interesting to hear this in the redhead...my audio studio.

 

The new supras are a fucking headache to diagnose… I hate dealing with modern German shit

Sometimes, multiple small tweaks turn into much larger gains.

Initially scored 13k on 3D Mark.

Bumped up voltage slightly on my ram, and voltage on my GPU (several times). Also kept playing with my clock and vram speeds.

Hitting clock speeds of 2,055mhz (1,500mhz stock) and memory speeds of 1,888mhz (1,400mhz stock, 1,750mhz boost).

Was hitting power limits for a bit until I raised it little by little along with my fan curve. Managed to go from 69 degrees down to 67 degrees on my benchmark runs.

CPU stayed at a cool 44 degrees after multiple runs.

Bailing wire was the precursor to it all. But I guess you have to be a FOGY to appreciate it's nuances.
