    Hello fellow new PNW family!

I'm moving up to Bellingham WA from the LA/SD area and I'm wondering if you have any advice or links to easy'ish trails that I can explore. I'm also looking for any groups that may do trail runs or have information on local trails.

    Thanks in advance!

Take a sporty car if available and drive Chuckanut drive. You won’t be disappointed. All coastal pavement, but worth experiencing.

    Thanks for the recommendation!

From my quick google search it appears to be a paved highway. I'm more looking for an off highway trail with dispersed camping.

I haven't lived in the upper PNW for a while now, but most of my family still does. Every time I'm up there to visit, I borrow a car or truck and run through Chuckanut. I stop at Taylor and grab some shellfish for dinner in and usually grab lunch there.

Thanks, I'll take yours and @crashnburn80 recommendations and adventure that route. Is there nothing in the area that is easy dispersed camping/off roading?

Not in that area, it's coastal. If you want to find some offroad, venture out towards Mt. Baker, or up hwy 2.

If you have a lady friend, plan a trip to Leavenworth and spend a weekend.

There are tons of Forrest service roads to explore. The north cascade mountain range is beautiful and you’re also near mt. Baker.

A must do is definitely Hwy 20 through the North Cascades out to Winthrop. Someone might know the name but I believe there's a lot of unique forest roads out there including the highest pass in WA or something like that? And I want to say there's some fire towers too.

Next summer you might check out the BC or NW Overland Rally. I've been to the NWOL rally 3 or 4 times now. Volunteered and helped run one of the trail runs last year. It's close to Leavenworth, which was already mentioned above. Lotsa cool rigs to check out, tons of people to chat with, and some fun classes and trail runs.

    And of course, the WABDR.

Walker valley maybe some stuff in upper nooksak valley. The snow has hit and all the high country might be out by now. If you want to run trails focus on the lowlands until late spring. All kinds of snow wheeling if you enjoy that

Not many thru trails around here more overland type stuff, logging and forrest service roads.
there is however some mudding out on the reservation and fun stuff out in walker as mentioned above. really the best way to do Washington is to just explore, there is so much out there that your almost guaranteed to find something weird/fun.

I would go to trails off road website. They have 232 trails listed for Washington.
