Tow Ball Mount Help (probably a "Stupid Question")

OK, I know I'm going to get laughed at. I can take it . Where does the circled piece go?

 

So think of it this way, what holds your hitch into the receiver?

 

Bushing for smaller shank balls.

Yep. 1 7/8" or 2" shank will work.

Silly me. I thought it was a ring to pull the cotter pin.

 

I have smaller shank balls. Putting a ring around them helps.

It is a sleeve for the threaded portion of the ball (the shank) if it is smaller than the hole in the tow bar.

i just run on down to the local auto parts store

did you at least get a free TRD hat when they bent you over?

 

Mine came with a hitch and a hat.
