Congrats! I went to a 2020 Tundra back in October of 2019. Wife and I were planning on having kids soon and even though we didn't need the full size at the time, we still made the switch then. Glad we did with the state of of vehicles in the 2 years following.

Went with a Crewmax TRD Sport. Tons of room in the backseat.

With a $25k budget, you'll get yourself into a mid to late teens Tundra. Don't worry about mileage as they're just as reliable as Tacomas. 60 miles per day commute will get you on gas but not horrible different than the Tacoma. I average 15mpg year round.

There's the sister page, Tundras.com if you want to browse around.

Car, after the Tacoma kidding, right?

I'd say if you had an AC instead of a DC, you might need to size up but both your kids will be fairly small for a few years more. Have you thought about a cap? But then again who am I to tell you what you need. Go with what you think you'll need.

Congrats on the upcoming addition to your family!

SUV, under 25k with decent mileage.

A low mileage mazda CX-5. They have the quality, but not the popularity. Much better bang for the buck than the RAV, in my opinion. Go test one of those. And keep the truck.

If you like Toyota products consider this. This 2008 can be had for about 10k, they are recommended Best Buy from consumer reports and get mid 20s mpg. Very reliable transportation.

I did 10 years in a minivan. It was awesome for kids. Nice to drive and easy for parking, shopping, carpools and shit from Lowe’s. Drive well and good sound system. Highly recommend for young family. Then you can get an even cooler gen V taco later.

Put the wife in a Highlander and keep the Tacoma. My wife's Highlander is as bullet proof as my Tacoma and gets a little better mileage.

We had a 2006 Sienna for about 14 years and it was probably the best vehicle we've ever owned.
I did the timing belt and water pump twice and spark plugs were an extreme pain in the rear, but that thing was still on the stock O2 sensors, TPMS sensors, radio, etc. It just NEVER gave us any problems. We gave it to a niece with about 217,000 miles on it and she's still driving it.
The newer Corollas are pretty nice and have a lot more room in them than you'd expect. Plus, they get about 35 mpg.
