    Hey All,

2020 4 cyl SR Tacoma here.

I've been trying to chase down a weird noise that sounds to me like a slipping belt. I tried to record it, it's best heard with headphones. The noise kicks in right after I accelerate.

I've had it in the shop once, they replaced my rear differential under warranty and that didn't solve the problem. They said they checked everything else and didn't see anything, and of course the noise didn't happen when I had someone ride with me

But then as soon as I'm by myself (or with my husband), the noise starts right back up...

Any help would be much appreciated.

    ETA: Here's a better video.

I couldn't find anything about double posting/bumping not being allowed, but I wanted to bump this because I recorded another video that's much more clear.

I added it to the first post, too.

If bumping/double posting isn't allowed and I somehow missed that rule, please let me know so I can delete this. Thanks!

serpentine belt or related pulley bearing. check the side of the belt which contacts the pulley(S) for dirt or debris in the groves. With the engine off spray the entire belt down with a good amount water (hose). Then while still wet take it for a drive. if the noise is gone and then comes back it is the belt or pulley. There was a TSB for the belt replacement for some model years Belts are easy to replace and while it is off the pulley can be checked. GL.
