Hey all, I recently got a 2013 base Tacoma and the fog lights don’t work. When I press the button on the dash, no indicator comes on so does that mean the issue is in the button? I checked fog light fuse and it’s not blown. Any ideas?

Are they wired up? Did you check is the bulbs are connected to a wire harness?

I don't think there is an indicator. Just turn the lights on, then push the fog light button. If they aren't coming on its possible both are burnt.

In factory configuration the fog lights only work with the low beams on, there is no fog light indicator.

The control side of the fog light relay (FR FOG Relay) is powered by the H-LP RH LO Fuse 10A, the fog light switch grounds the other side on Pin 3 (Blue).
The power side of the relay is powered by the FOG FR fuse 15A.

Okay I’ll steal a fog light out of my F150 since they’re the same 9145 and try that

They turned out to not be the same so I’ll order a new set. I could visually see that the Tacoma ones are burned out though, so hopefully bulbs was the issue.

Stock fog light bulbs are H11.

Gotcha. Online I found they were 9145 and so is the Ford so I was confused.

Alright, got new bulbs and put them in and nothing. Is there a common thing with these fog lights that I should check first?

Have you verified the FR FOG fuse is not blown and the FR FOG Relay is installed?

Do you have your low beams on when you turn the fogs on?

Get you a test light and start checking at the relay socket.
Test light connected to battery negative make sure you light lights on pins 1 and 5 with the headlights on low beam.
Test light connected to battery positive make sure your light lights on pin 2 with the fog light switch on, it should also light on pin 3 if the wire going to the fog lights is good and the bulbs are intact.

Alright, ended up cleaning connections on everything and finally have fog lights.
