Front diff breather clogged? Just replace it.

    Like Mike said, same concept.

As for your leaking diff? Replace the cv axle seal as stated above.

Some have successfully replaced their seal by using the cv axle itself to drive the seal in place. Though, not everyone that used the same approach remained leak-free.

I used a specific seal driver that made the install stupid simple and pushes it to the specific 5.5mm seating depth required - Toyota 4WD IFS Output Shaft Seal Driver (ASD-2) (absolute-wits-end.com)

Actually, come to think of it...I posted this same advice in another thread where you replaced a cv axle seal already - Front Cv axle inboard seal install | Tacoma World

yes. Yes you did. & that may be the route I need to go. The seal question I asked was a curiosity. I have been given good advice, like yours, & have read up on other members’ experiences.

& my question was not about the breather. It was about checking the hoses beyond the bracket. The ones that are difficult to get at to swap out. The question has been misunderstood twice now, so my guess is I’m not being clear. We’ll just leave it at that…

I'm not sure if what the youtube guy mentioned would work as far as dropping it a bit for more room but the hose that connects the diff breather barb to the bracket hard line is literally just a couple of inches in length. If you can get to it, go for it although I don't think its necessary.

If its going to clog or become obstructed, it's going to be the breather itself. When they 'clog' it's that silly little breather that is on there, at least as far as I understand it.
