single maplight not working

One of the two vanity lights is out on my 3rd gen Tacoma. this is the unit directly above the front seats in the center of the roof. I swapped out the old led bulb with a new one but it still wont work. The other side works just fine. Any suggestions?

Flip the new bulb 180 degrees

if that doesn’t work swap both ‘bulbs’ and see if it is that individual map

Remove the socket. Check electrical contacts with it removed so you don’t blow a fuse.
