Ok, so I’m finding conflicting info I’m having a hard time sifting through. It seems older OME springs gave a bit higher lift than the new ones do. For instance in a v6 4x4 access cab old 884 gave 2” of lift, and now the new 884x gives 1 1/2”? I’m looking to get 5100’s set at zero, and put either 884s or 885s on to get as close to 2” even as I can on my 2006 v6 4x4 access cab. Also do I need to do a sway bar relocate with the OME springs at 2”?? Thanks for the input guys, always appreciated.

Determine that the numbers are comparable. For example the same coil spring on a 3rd Gen is going to measure different on a 2nd Gen.

‘A sway bar relocate is cheap and an easy install, recommended for a 2” lift.

Most all advertised lift heights are merely estimates and are dependent on a number of factors including the weight of your truck.

I don’t know of any reason why you would need a sway bar relocation. Where did you hear that?

I just was reading where guys that had 2” or higher sometimes rubbed their springs. Since I was going to pull and refinish my sway bar anyway I figured if I needed it for Bilststeins and 884/885, I’d go ahead and do it, but if I don’t need it, all the better.

Does that have to do with bigger diameter springs? I think maybe 2.5 vs 2”??

Regardless of lift height, the suspension has the same path through space. If it contacts the coil spring when lifted, it will contact the spring when not lifted.
