I have a 21 Access cab truck with a mid rise topper. Between the topper some tools/gear I probably have about 350-400lbs of added weight in the bed over stock at all times. I have stock suspension and a 1.25 tapered rear block to help with the droop. I was looking to pull out the block and put some OME hd leafs with extended 5100s in the rear. Would it be ok to just do the rear and down the line after it settles do 5100s in the front? I was only looking to do the 2nd notch as it should be a little over an inch since I have a lighter weight 2.7 up front. Also with that pack is it recommended to do a tapered shim and or carrier bearing drop. Anyone have any pictures of the HD pack with 265/75/16s appreciate the insight

Here is how the truck looks and distance between bump stop and frame with the normal stuff I keep in the bed at all times. I really want a minimal lift in the front and rear but the ability to put stuff in the bed without being on the bump stops. With the 1.25 rear block I am about 1” higher in the rear I do not know how much the hd pack with the block removed would add

That should be a fine setup to run and for sure will be better suited for the increased load than the stock pack. We can't all ball out so do things as needed. I would recommend the Deaver u402 (stage 2) or Icon RXT (at stage 2) pack over the Dakar though. No experience with Dakar but I hear those things squeak like a mf.

Also keep in mind you will likely need to extend the rear brake lines with a new leaf pack as you will gain increased downtravel with the new setup. +4" should be perfect and I would highly recommend lines built by Crown. Up front stock length will be fine unless you go LT.

Be warned that the OME leafs squeak..... and Ahh, https://rogue-offroad.com/OME-HEAVY-DUTY-Rear-Leaf-Springs-275-Lift_p_8976.html "OME says these springs are for vehicles carrying an extra 660+ lbs at all times. That's a huge amount of weight. Leafs can be added or removed to custom tune them to your application if desired."

Looking around I heard they can be loud i can’t see why the occasional fluid film wouldn’t help. I looked at the deavers as well but obviously I can do dakars with 5100s all around and still have money to spare over just getting deavers. The old saying buy once cry once but it’s a cheap truck 2.7 trying to not turn it into an expensive rig.

I’m pretty happy with my icon rxt springs at stage 2. I have the OR long bed with a fiberglass shell. I usually carry a few hundred pounds of tools as well. I can’t say for sure, but going this route on a stock Tacoma without a lift up front, I’m pretty confident you’ll end up with significant rake. Just something to consider and keep in mind.

I've had the Icon RXT option 2 on for a year now and never once heard a squeak. I have a canopy and carry 300lbs in the back. Without lifting the front right now i'd recommend starting off at option 1 and go to 2 after upgrading up front, otherwise the rake would be too excessive.

Thanks was looking at the rxt pack with the aaf as well i think option 2 with a 1-1.5 lift in the front down the road. What lift did you put in the front

This is a rxt pack on stage 2 with 6112’s set at 4/5 with about 1.25” of lift up front. In the back I have a decked system loaded with tools and a smart cap.

Looks good what size tire and rear shock did you use 5160? I was wonder if I should go with an extended 5100 or maybe a 5125. I’m in Matthews not too far from you

I’m on 265/70r17’s. I have a set of 5125’s and 8100’s. The 8100’s are a little short for maximum droop but they ride soooo nice! I’m pulling the 8100’s off and putting the 5125’s back on until I can go with a @ARCHIVE 2.0 shock relocation kit.

Thanks i was going to go with 5125's myself since i do not feel like doing new bumpstops/brake lines and seems to be the happy medium. You just had to trim the bushing and sleeve on the 5125's right?
