They get the cheapest and crappiest gas they can find. I switched to a different brand and my vehicles run better.

Talking to my old mechanic and he said that 95% of cases where a vehicle was running bad they got gas at Sheetz...

I’ve never have problems with Sheetz, not that I get it often. But I had a VW GTI that ran like shit on everything but BP gas. This was circa 2009 and for whatever reason BP was more expensive than all other gas stations.

Definitely second the Mudgets recommendation… my good friend Eric Beam works there. They have helped us (my friends and family) many of times. And I believe they guarantee their work as long as you own the vehicle.

That said… I’m sorry about your truck! Hopefully your insurance will not give you any run-a-round and get you fixed up quickly!

Ironically I ran 3 gallons of Sheetz E85 and the rest Sheetz 93 in my 2017 GTI. But, the rest of my vehicles did not like it.

Best gas and price I can recommend in Carroll is at the Citgo behind the Plum Crazy diner. That’s all I put in my Camry and Taco and they run awesome.

Happens to me every time

We have Rutter's in my town, which is similar to Sheetz. Also has made to order food. I have to eat it at home or work as I gotta be near a bathroom within 20 minutes of eating that stuff

    Those are fighting words.

There are many anecdotal stories out there about gas quality. However from I have gathered, the source of most gas that you’ll find is the same. Only difference is supposedly the additives. Hence I would argue that any high volume gas station shouldn’t be harmful to a vehicle.

But I do stick with Shell, Exxon, Mobil, Chevron when possible. No issues with Wawa either. But I probably wouldn’t put in Sheetz unless absolute need be. Maybe that just invalidated my argument lol

I seem to have spark a debate and I apologize
I used to be suuuuper picky about where I filled up at. "top tier only" was my theme. Over the last few years I've tried to exclusively run Costco or BJ's, and sometimes Wawa or wherever was convenient. I'm only using the Sheetz stuff because they have E15. I haven't noticed any performance differences with using their gas so until I do, I'll probably stick with it. Everyone's experience will be different though, that's for sure.

That is what I was told from someone that was a chemical engineer who worked in that industry. All of the gasoline that is pumped through the national distribution network is the exactly the same, each distribution center will add the chemical pack that is unique to each "brand" of gasoline, including the different "grades" (octane levels) of gasoline.

But, FWIW, I have noticed differences in engine performance when I had the Outback- it liked Shell the best. It hated gas from Rutters ( it pinged like crazy until the ECU pulled so much timing out of it, a CEL would trigger) My 4runner doesn't seem to care what goes in the gas tank, the Taco is so gutless with the 2.7 I don't think that you would be able to tell if was making any LESS power from crappy gas, LOL

    Concur on both fronts.

One additional factor could be quality of the tanks at the stations. Rutters (whatever that is lol) could have old tanks with sediment that is being deposited into your vehicle.

And another tidbit; I’ve also heard that Shell fuel on the east coast is different than the west coast. East coast, Shell is top quality. I will run it all day. But apparently West Coast Shell product is different, something about it being a different company/potentially different quality. I ran Chevron over Shell on the west coast, then gas prices went through the roof and I stopped that lol
