He did touch on pinion angle, not enough of a change to be concerned about. As for lubrication of the pinion he said isn't an issue because the crown gear slings it around. He even showed a quick clip of a Banks video showing how diff lubrication works.

He touched on them very briefly and used the words "I personally don't think it is significant enough to do harm." That's zero fact and 100% opinion. All I'm saying is he didn't prove or debunk anything. Just slung his opinion like everyone else.

I just wish he went more into detail/research on those 2 topics. But maybe it's just not possible to prove one way or another.

My take on it is that he didn't think it was worth exploring based on the likelihood the research would net anything surprising and the chance that anyone has bothered to do any rigorous testing. In any case, pretty much everything in the video was an opinion, albeit an educated opinion. I'm not sure why you are focusing on those two things.

Most on here only recommend 2" of lift.

Lots of opinions on these. In my experience with diiff drops i've had one on my 2007 going on 15 years now with zero issues. Even with a 2" lift without the spacers my cv boot ribs hit... with the drop they don't. I would think if there was going to be a problem i would have seen it by now... just saying.

Welp.. apparently you don't have your ASE cert from the YouTube Institute and didn't make a catchy click-baiting video. :D

Yeah... just my experience so far. For full discloser i should mention that even though it's been 15 years the truck only has 34,000 miles. I did have the ecgs bushing done but not out of necessity... had a new lift installed last year and thought as long as it's torn apart what the hell. Lots of write ups good and bad on the diff drops.... that's for sure. My main concern was the geometry of the suspension and reliability after lifting... not with loosing a bit of ground clearance. Are they good or bad... who the hell knows but probably comes down to how you use your truck. Will report back in another 15 years.

Maybe i just heard what I wanted but I thought he was trying to say that the diff drop could possibly give marginal benefit in our truck (certainly in other types of suspension) but the potential drawbacks, like ground clearance, didn't pass the risk/reward test. Every video he does ends with a stressed point of the fact that everyone needs to figure what compromises they want to make

My conclusion was, that for a Tacoma, the advantages of a diff drop are at best ambiguous and some of the disadvantages (eg clearance) are obvious. The video supported my existing intuition and taught me a couple things.
