I did finally watch it, most of it anyway. I can't decide if it was Ferrari finally making a good call, or Red Bull screwing Checo over.

I honestly felt that Max could have helped Checo more. Before checking out, he could have pulled him along. But the way Checo phrased his comment would have pissed max off. These last few races from Max have certainly altered the way I see him.

I'm confused by this, dude is not very fast. I think they are only pushing this as a means to broaden the American market for F1

It's the same old Max, nothing new from when he was a rookie and the issues he and Daniel had. We all want MAx to be something he's not...a good guy.

That's correct. Rossi constantly finished well ahead of his teammate, so I had hoped he would get a chance with one of the better teams, but he left for Indycars (CART?).

I could be wrong here but there's always been some negative stigma against american drivers in F1. At least the last 30 years. All the way back to Michael Andretti in 93, who got on the podium at Monza and was let go? You know who took Scott Speeds seat?? Vettel His results werent great but not very many do great their first year. Imagine if he was able to keep the seat then the bump to Red Bull as Vettel did? We'll see if that continues.
As far as Max well he's there to win races not make friends! Not that I agree with the way he conducts himself especially when he was asked by the team to let Checo by. Champion drivers are rarely nice people, at least on track. Just ask Mark Webber about Seb Vettel.
