And a flatbed tow for what may be a simple 12v battery swap.

No, 30 minutes from requesting a tow. It was a week to get a service appointment. Originally set for mobile repair Monday, then after remote diagnosis Tesla said it needed to come to the service center for repair and bumped the date a day. The tow request to vehicle service drop off was all pretty seamless.

Sounds like it may be one of the front VCUs (Vehicle Control Units) according to initial remote diagnostics shared by the service advisor. TBD.

Did they tow it back or did you have to pick it up?

Tesla provided $100 Uber credits per calendar day they had the car, so I received $200 of Uber credit for the 16 hours they had my car. So I Uber'd to the pickup, paid for by Tesla. One click in the app to accept the credits, so incredibly simple. Honestly quite a bit easier than getting a loaner though obviously wouldn't be the best arrangement for everyone.

Driving home through the valley tonight there was significant fog. First thought, great opportunity to test out the OEM fog lights! (Even though they are in a subpar 6000k). However, driving in the fog, the auto high beams would turn on making it even more difficult to see. And attempting to navigate the menu system on the touch screen while having to focus on the road in reduced visibility just wasn't worth it. Tesla should add a shortcuts menu at the bottom of the touchscreen, next to the recent apps, where you can drag a control down for easy access. Then you can stick whatever is important to you there and have it as a single click operation. Most the automatic stuff does a reasonable job, but there is no auto setting for fogs. There are aftermarket bluetooth buttons you can get to activate customizable functions in the car, but that seems rather tacky.

Picked up the wheels from the powder coater with the Goodyear Electric GT tires mounted and balanced and new Tesla Bluetooth TPMS sensors installed. Just in time too, snow is forecasted for tomorrow and I’m still on the summer tires.

I powder coated the wheels because I didn’t like the bright silver with the red and black look on my car, but I didn’t want the wheels to be solid matte black either (the only other color option). My thought was a dark metallic gun metal, similar to OEM that would still offer some contrast to the black aero inserts.

There is some contrast, but not much.

Unsure what I think. I don’t love it, but don’t hate it. I’m glad I went with 19s over 18s, even though the weight savings is less.D09E5B0D-FC96-43B3-B44B-B3A086BF981F.jpg

I am glad I went with the black lugs over natural titanium, as they are barely noticeable. I will be swapping the FastEV center caps for Tesla logo ones.

These aero wheels are supposed to add about 4% range efficiency, similar to the OEM aero wheels. The tires are also low rolling resistance tires, which should help over the sticky summer performance ones. The new setup saves about 3.5lbs per corner vs stock model 3 performance.

Fair, but sometimes function is factored first. Lighter and 4% more efficient. You can’t practically add power to an EV, all you can do is improve efficiency. And improving efficiency by 4% is like the equivalent of adding 20hp in a 500hp car.
