I'm about to start ordering suspension parts 2008 DCSB OR and I'm trying to figure out coil spring stiffness. Is the stock gen2 actually 250 lbs lighter at the front wheels than the gen3. If so how are some companies lift options being suggest as 2005+ when given the same spring rate, the different generations would ride completely differently.

Can anyone confirm with more than, I read some place also.

What are the stock spring rates for the gen2 Off Road and the gen 3 Off Road?

Considering IronMan FCP and Dobinson MRA, but open for suggestions along similar-ish lines. I'm concerned the IronMan springs will to still with 730lb/in rate.

Full skids, sliders, two people, 60# dog, 10 gallons water in the cab.
An easy 800# in the rear (360# camper, usual camp gear, climbing gear, biking gear, and thank god the fishing gear doesn't add any real weight). No bumpers yet.

@Crikeymike - have any input on the stock 2nd gen TRD Off Road spring rates vs the Dobinson MRA?

I have a light winch&bumper on the front. Sliders, 3 skids and some other stuff Total weight of the truck + me 5500 lbs (used the scale at the dump). I have kings with 600 lb springs. It’s ok perhaps borderline too light. Got the preload as high as I plan. CV angles are ok, just under 3” of lift. I’m not planning on more weight so I’ll stick with what I have.

I did go with Dobinsons MRA extended MRAs, Coil Springs 405mm 586 lbf/in (right springs for right now no winch), and the medium leafs (one can add leafs to the Dobs to bump them to the next level. went through @Crikeymike

@JasonLee Wish you did have a build thread. Looks like you address being able to go and stop given the supercharger torque, rear diff locker, and being able to stop with those brakes. A 2015 supercharged DCLB would be my ideal platform

I really do need to jump on a CAT scale before and after I add a rear bumper and build out storage in the back.

Yeah, do it!!! FYI - last time I went to one in Colorado and Wyoming they failed to tell me one thing....

It's only $2 for a reweigh ... if you come in within 24 hours of the first one!

So if you're able to plan out the rear bumper and storage in the rear in less than a day, go to the scales right before you start work and then once done, go right back to the scale.

What you want is a non-certified weight. Should be $12.
    I kind of have a "build" thread… https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2015-supercharged-trd-or-pro-clone.779421/

Right on the reweigh, I have tentative plans to weigh it before and after getting loaded for a trip. Though I'm the type of dork who weighs all my gear just because. With that chart and an accurate dual axle weighing, I would know what I'm carrying on each axle after some measurements and some math. I'd love to see accurate dual axle weighing of a gen2 DCSB Off Road full tank of gas with no extra weight (no cap, no tools, no stuff).
