I have a 2002 Tacoma 2.7 5 speed 4x4 and believe the rear differential went out. When you put it in gear the driveshaft spins but tires do not. Their was no loud noise when it happened just coasting down a hill and was just like you put it in neutral. The code on driver door jam is B06A which I believe is a 3:91 gear ratio. I have been looking for ring and pinions, 3rd members, complete rear ends, and parts trucks the last 6 months but cannot find anything. Should I just keep searching or should I swap both front and read differentials out with 4:10 gears? Any advice is appropriated

Sorry to hear, but maybe a good time to add a rear locker?

    Welcome to the forum!

When your looking for parts please lets us know where you are .

Have you checked what the problem is?? No noise sounds like a snapped axle shaft .

When a differential grenades it is very seldom quiet and your vehicle tends to stop rather abruptly !!

    Though anything is possible.

Figure out just what is wrong so you know what you need to make it good.

If you were close I might have something but I would need to check the gear ratio.

That depends. If you're running taller tires, sure. Going to a 4.10 will help.

Sorry, missed the driveshaft spinning. If there's no noise, pinion could be sheared off, which would be impressive. Need to crack it open.
