All water pipes are below frost line or it will freeze.

The water department installed a remote meter reader so They don't have to come in the house. All they do is drive by and the roof mounted reader, reads the meter.

 

This is how it is in Maine. My water line (1" Copper) comes it the house right at the base of the poured concrete foundation. It's buried at least 5' below grade. The meter is attached just after the main shut off valve.

 

Same thing here.

Before the remote reader. We had to mail in the reading off the meter.

 

Did you get the tub to sit flush with the floor? Or was that someone else?

I understand what you're suggesting. The outer most joist ( stringer?) is actually the widest joist in the whole lot ( 7 1/2" end to end.) everything else is a little under in various dimensions. I'm leaning towards getting a 2x10, laying it out and ripping it to the appropriate dimensions. Or just saying fook it. Friday's weather forecast looks decent, I will make something happen and just move forward from there, regardless if it was the best decision or not. At least it was a decision.

 

How much is a new joist? Jesus the amount of time spent with this indecision could have paid for all of them to be replaced. Time is money, it’s just wood. Rip it out & replace with one cut correctly.

 

I've been to the lumberyard a number of times recently. Based on what I've seen, a new joist costs

 

This guy has been an asshole for a while. Just ask him what he wants you to say. That's the only right answer.

 

Lumber and plywood are currently low , cedar , not so much

I've bought a lot of redwood lately... prices have definitely not come down for that either.

 

The amount of time spent on this is far more than the cost of a new board

 

X2 Was looking at framed redwood lattice panels at HD. About $50 a piece, pass.

 

I have over a grand in mostly 2x4s for my greenhouse. It was meant to be a cheap, quick build using recycled wood windows, but plans/design changes... footprint, shape, roof type, etc.

 

I bought $30K in lumber about 3 weeks ago

 

Haha that was me, nope I left the tub as is. Seems to be fine

 

Helped pops cut down and move a small pine that had died. We planted it when I was 8 or 9. Sad to see It go.
