A few weeks back I had a deer jump out in front of me on the way to work.
Didn't hurt fenders or hood but took out my bumper.
I've been wanting to build a winch bumper for a while now.
And this gave me the chance.
I didn't want to spend a lot on a winch as I probably won't use it a lot.
I have a smittybilt 9500lb winch on my tundra. And have only used it once in 4 years.
I looked at a lot of winches and settled on a zesuper 9500lb from Amazon.
It has good reviews and several video reviews online. It's submersible rated .has corded remote and cordless remote.
    Best of all only $279
So far I've got winch deck tacked together.
And 7 inch channel iron bumper cut and notched around winch . The grey tabs in front of bumper in pic is just tacked on to hold it in place so I can measure and fab tabs to bolt bumper to frame . Still have to weld everything out . And figure out best way to bolt bumper to truck.
I want the winch deck to be separate from bumper.
So bumper can be removed to access winch without cutting anything.
Have to figure what taper to use on bumper so that it narrows toward the ends .
Figured how and where to cut and wrap ends around fenders .
I've looked online for pics of how and where to bolt homemade winch deck and bumper.
But not a lot of instructions .
I'll try to post measurements and explanation as I go if anyone's interested .

Like the idea of the hitch receiver built into the bumper.

Well last night after work I got the taper cut on both sides of bumper. Going from 7" in center to 4" at ends .
And got the sides cut and welded on where bumper turns towards the tires .
And bought some roll on bed liner .
Starting to look like a winch bumper .
