It’s more of a vibration type low sounding rattle just behind the dual vents during idle. Pushing on the trim there stops it momentarily. I’m thinking maybe a few poundings on the dashboard top with a rubber mallet might silence it. I’ll of course switch off the drivers side airbag. :notsure:

I cut a short piece (2-3") of fuel line and stuffed it between the dash and windshield back there. It seems to be a common issue.

I’d leave the airbags hooked up.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I have enough stuff piled on the dash it can`t rattle.

Not that I could hear it over the radio.

If you do take a mallet to it, please post pics or a video!

You might have better luck stuffing the rubber mallet up in there though. Stuffing things in there what most people do (even some dealers). A lot easier "fixing" it that way than what it says to do in the TSB for it.

My dash has been rattling off & on for 18 yrs now. I still haven't bothered to do anything about it. It doesn't bother me anymore, guess I'm just used to it. It will be silent for a while then one day rattle out of nowhere. But it's not constant on my truck, only sometimes. No consistent pattern of when it decides to rattle on my truck. I figure weather/temp and/or road conditions would make it rattle but nope.

My dash rattle finally stopped on its own after a few years of rattling proportionate to vehicle speed. I think it was the fresh air vent door... turns out my patience in ignoring it paid off.

It's the vents (defrost included) hitting the dash. Need to remove and get creative on those transitions. I ended up making my whole dash fabric.

I used some black packaging foam to do the same thing. Cheap and works like a charm

My dash doesn’t rattle, but on my 1st gen Tundra, the fix is some foam backer rod between the dash and the glass.
