Recirculate vs. Fresh Air setting

That or simply wanting fresh air circulated throughout the truck (defrost) but without direct blow on you face or feet.

Only reason I knew about it is this topic came up before and had me stumped until someone found that tidbit in the owners manual.

 

note mine. there must be a leak in yours. i have torn apart the dash before and all the hoses ran to the same box where the flap opens and closes with the filter
